چکیده

The main objective is to study the genotypic and characterization of plasmid deoxyribonucleic acid content resistant isolates in Erbil city. A total 39 Acinetobacter baumannii were isolated from 102 diabetic foot ulcer patients, whose ages ranged 37 88 y, attending various medical wards hospitals city, Iraq, between May 2020 March 2021. Isolates tested for presence extended-spectrum beta-lactamases metallo beta-lactamases. prevalence multidrug-resistant namely blaOXA-51- like, blaOXA-23-like, ISAba1 outer membrane protein expression oxacillinase carbapenemases gene biofilm formation respectively screened on molecular level. Finally, profile was determined biofilm-forming capacity measured. Most showed high resistance different antimicrobial agents tested, most effective colistin polymyxin B. 12 (30.76 %) positive beta-lactamases, while all (100 beta-lactamase producers. 27 (69.23 producers, nonbiofilm blaOXA-51-like, genes detected isolates. encoding certain antibiotics, addition that coding located plasmids. Analysis revealed 25 (64.10 harbored one several bands ranging 1 kilo base pairs more than 10 pairs. No thermo-sensitive plasmids detected. Due emergence multidrug-resistance, evolving into a global health threat. Carbapenems are therapeutic nosocomial infections. Before deciding course treatment, it important consider aforementioned interaction since multiple species may worsen infection.

CLSI based antibiogram profile and the detection of MDR and XDR strains of Acinetobacter baumannii isolated from urine samples

Background: Acinetobacter baumannii is an emerging nosocomial pathogen causing serious complications due to the propensity of its multi-drug resistant property. Due to the indiscriminate and wide-spread use of antibiotics, A. baumannii strains emerge as MDR-Ab, XDR-Ab and in recent years pan-DR-Ab strains. Routine therapy incorporates the application of fewer antibiotics and antibiotic surveill...
